Tips For Making Your Hotel Room Homier

Posted on

Hotels are amazing places where you can kick back, relax, and allow other people to take care of you. The problem is that hotels do not have everything that you might want that you would have if you were at home. Here are some things that you can do in your hotel room to make the most of it and to make it homier.

1. Make Your Own Speakers

Most hotels don't have anything that you can hook your phone or other portable music device into for obvious reasons. They don't want you bothering anyone else. However, if it's the middle of the day and you know that you're not going to wake anyone up, you might want to enjoy your music without it sounding tinny out of the speakers and without you wearing headphones. One way you can do this is to simply start playing the music out of your phone or other portable music device and put the device in a ceramic mug. The ceramic mug has the ability to amplify the sound that is coming out of your music device and make it sound both louder and fuller. This could make it easier for you to get work done in your hotel room because you'll have your tunes with you.

2. Carry a Multi-Plug Expander

If you have a ton of electronics that you need to charge for a business meeting the next day, it's not going to be enough to charge them one at a time. Instead of moving furniture to look for extra outlets, you can just bring your own multi-plug expander that will allow you to make the most out of the plugs that you can find. Some hotels even have expanders that are available for you to borrow if you need them.

3. Use the Steam From the Shower to Get Rid of Wrinkles

Many hotels already have ironing boards in them, but you might absolutely hate ironing. In order to resolve this situation, you can simply turn the water in the shower on as hot as possible, hang up your clothes in the bathroom, and close the door, being sure that your clothes are out of the way of the water. Allow the clothes to sit with the hot water running for fifteen minutes, During this time, steam will accumulate in the room and get rid of all of the wrinkles in your clothes.

Contact a hotel, like Oak Tree Inn, to see what options they have available.
